Race Updates and Holiday Coaching

Richard Dunn Circuit Race

On Saturday 14th March is a White Rose Youth league Youth Circuit race around Richard Dunn circuit after our bike club. Races are for U8/10 (Combined), U12, U14 and U16. Girls and Boys are regarded as separate categories but girls often race with the boys depending on numbers. The cost is £5 plus £1.50 day licence if you don't have a British Cycling Race licence (comes free with BC membership).

Start time is 2pm for the U8/10 with signing on for all categories from 1pm. Gear restrictions apply. Please read the British Cycling Age Categories and British Cycling Parent Guidance attached - DON'T MIX IT UP WITH BSCA which is different.

This race in an early bird version of the series which will be run at Richard Dunn on alternating Wednesday Nights from the 6th May 2015. It is a great opportunity to try out racing or to get ready for the summer series. This event is run by East Bradford so help with marshalling on the day would be very welcome.

British Schools Cycling Association Yorkshire Roller Race.

This will be held in the main hall at Richard Dunn on Sunday 29th march 2015. It is an all day event with at least three races per child
This is a great event for young riders to race on indoor rollers. With the bike supported on a box for Under 7,9 and 11 year olds ( all primary school pupils) anyone one under 11 on the 1st September 2014 can have a go without any prior training on rollers. Older children are not supported for the Under 13/15 and Over 15's categories so it is advisable that they practice riding on free rollers before they race.

Please note there are gear restrictions applying.  A gear restriction means that children in a certain age group have a maximum gear they can use on their bike to make it fair. This is measured by a single full crank revolution. Ask your local coaches for advice on how to restrict gears (Simply altering the movement of the gears by use of a screwdriver) Please ensure you have checked and restricted the gears if required before attending the competition.BSCA Age Groups and Gear restircions are attached, PLEASE DON'T MIX THEM UP WITH BRITISH CYCLING

The competition rollers will be at club to try them out on the two Saturday's before the event.
