Calling all club volunteers or would be volunteers, both youths and adults.
Our club can't run without volunteers. From the coaches to sign on to marshalling for events, everyone who helps at club are volunteers giving up their free time. The more we have, the easier the work for everyone.
There is a special British Cycling Young Voulnteers Scheme for children aged 14 and up where volunteering with club can really help towards developing all the skills you will need later in life. Not only is it great for your CV but also brings rewards for the hours you put in through the Bronze (12 hours), Silver (24 hours), Gold (36 hours) and Platinum (48 hoursish). Rewards include tops, jackets and even Gold Membership to BC and a coaching bursary depending on your hours given.
We have two platinum volunteers, Joe Parker and Jenny Roberts as well as other young volunteers who have gone through the scheme, They have been given amazing opportunities such as attending the National Talent Camps and working at the UK School Games as well as at club in different roles. We have also had other young volunteers - George Fox, Aaron Ward and Paul Asquith to name a few. Even better, the course is at Richard Dunn's on Tuesday 21st Feb at 6.30.
